Wagner-Year 2 0 1 3 - Welcome!
May 19th > Open Day on the Green Hill
On the occasion of Richard Wagner’s 200th birthday, the Bayreuth Festival is extending a cordial invitation to an “open day” on Sunday, 19th May, 2013.
“We are delighted that it is possible to open the Festspielhaus to interested visitors free of charge on Whit Sunday. We hope it will be like the ‘Museum Night’, and that we shall be able to welcome a large number of guests, especially families,” say the Festival Directors Eva Wagner-Pasquier and Katharina Wagner.
Between 1 and 6 p.m., visitors in and around the Festspielhaus can find out about what goes on on the Grüner Hügel. The plans include hourly guided tours (auditorium, orchestra pit, chorus room), special tours of the stage, where the stage equipment will be explained and the professions of costume designers and make-up artists will be described.
Refreshments will be provided. Further information will be published in the near future on the Bayreuth Festival’s website.
It goes without saying that we shall also be there for you on that day and we cordially invite you to visit us in the Society’s office.
July 27th > The Annual General Meeting will be held at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 27th July, 2013. Please send any motions for inclusion on the agenda to our Secretariat in good time. The agenda and motions must reach all Members at least 4 weeks before the meeting.
July 28th > Summer Reception of the Society. In the Neues Schloss.
