For some years now, we have regularly been approached by members wishing to remember the Bayreuth Festival in their wills. For those thinking of the future, it is particularly important that the legacy intended for the Bayreuth Festival should not just flow into the annual budget, but that the Foundation’s assets should be preserved over the long term, so that the yield can be used to make a lasting contribute to securing the Bayreuth Festival.

In 2001 Dr. Karl Gerhard Schmidt, endowed the “Friends of Bayreuth” Foundation, which has set itself the same goals, word for word, as the Society of Friends of Bayreuth, namely providing financial assistance for the Bayreuth Festival.

Dr. Arendt Oetker has likewise made a major donation to the Foundation. We also want to thank Giseal Ramming-Leupold and Eckbert Wagner-Wimmer for their support. The Foundation’s assets amounted to € 140.00 and are invested savings certificates.
